For social bookings email socialsecretary@chelmsford.camra.org.uk or contact Martin Joy on 07878 624443. Last minute arrivals may be accepted at some events but for most pre-booking is suggested or compulsory.

Please be advised that the Social team have decided to use self-drive Minibuses driven by CME members and volunteers where possible. With Minibus hire we are unfortunately only allowed to take CAMRA members on these trips. Spaces are limited to 16 per Minibus.
Non-members who wish to attend members only trips are encouraged to consider joining CAMRA, especially at this year’s winter and summer Beer Festivals where there are often special offers.
On all Minibus trips you will be dropped off in reasonable walking distance to your home. Other coach trips will include the Chelmsford Circuit drop off around this circuit on return to Chelmsford.
We will still continue to use Coach Companies for our all day trips and also runabouts that are a little further afield and where we know demand for places will be high.
Please note that for over-subscribed events we reserve the right to give priority to CME Branch members over members of other Branches or non-members.

  • Inter - Branch Social in Maldon Saturday 13 October 2018 Maldon

    By public transport to Maldon. Planning to leave Chelmsford around midday but please make your own way there.
    A chance to meet up with members of Ipswich Branch of CAMRA, who will be visiting Maldon
    with its many fine pubs and micro pubs during the day as well as Woodham Mortimer and Boreham.

  • Visit to the Spa Valley Railway Beer and Cider festival Saturday 20 October 2018 11:00 Tunbridge Wells West Station

    Coach departs from opposite Chelmsford Railway Station, 11am
    Open to members and non–members, visiting one of the biggest festivals in Kent and Sussex
    160 Real Ales and 25+ Green Hop Beers and 30+ Ciders. Free Entry to festival, £20 pp for coach.
    Trains running all day to the other stations along the Spa Valley Railway.
    Tickets for trains cost £15 for CAMRA Members with valid card.

    Also time during the day to visit the splendid town of Tunbridge Wells,
    just a short walk from the festival. It has some great pubs and places of interest.
    Plus a possible stop at a favourite watering hole located in Dartford on way home back to Essex.

    By Minibus and via Eurotunnel. Proposed Cost of travel will be approx £50.00 per person.
    You must book your own accommodation in Bruges and have valid passport.
